Easily Group Students with Grouping Cards

GROUPING CARDS provide an easy way to make collaborative groups.

These grouping cards provide a fun, quick ways to group students in 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 5’s or more.

To group students in pairs give each student a card and instruct them to find the partner with the matching food pair. We recommend you display the Groups of 2 answer poster in your classroom. If students have difficulty finding their partner, they can refer to the answer sheet.

Want to group your students in groups of 2 with these cute food pair cards for FREE?

If you want to group students into groups of three give each student a grouping card. Then, instruct them to find classmates with the other two cards that fit in their category. You’ll quickly discover, students love trying to figure out who else is in their category. Remember, students can refer to the answer poster if they have difficulty finding their group.

 

To group students in groups of 4 give each student a card and instruct them to find their group of four by finding the other three cards that fit in their category. The student who gets “elephant” will group with the students who get “kangaroo,” “zebra,” and “flamingo.”

 

Also, when using the grouping cards to group students into groups of 5 instruct students to find the ingredients that go together to make a food. Students will form a group of five by finding the other four ingredients that make one food.  For example: the student who gets “taco shell” will group with the students who get “tomatoes,” “cheese,”  “lettuce,” and “meat.” There are even extra ingredients for groups of 6, 7, or 8!
