St. Patrick Day Lesson Plans And Ideas
3 Favorite St. Patrick’s Day Read Alouds
In no particular order, here are three of our students’ favorite read aloud stories for St. Patrick’s Day:
- How to Catch a Leprechaun, Adam Wallace– This story is written from the point of view of a leprechaun. The students enjoy the ‘Where’s Waldo’ type of fun as they try to find the leprechaun on every page. This read aloud is also a great text to jumpstart your leprechaun trap STEM activities and our lesson plans make the cutest bulletin board (see below).
- The Night Before St. Patrick’s Day, Natasha Wing– This cute tale is a spin-off of ‘T’was the Night before Christmas’ where the characters make a plan to work together to trap a leprechaun. It also has a few St. Patrick day traditions sprinkled throughout the book.
- The Luckiest St. Patrick’s Day Ever, Teddy Slater- this story also highlights St. Patrick’s Day traditions in rhyme form. This story is a great one to help your students practice the skill of sequencing events.
