Furthermore, you can continue using fall themed activities in your classroom up until December!

To help you get started with your fall themed lesson plans for preschool, we created a bundle of fall themed resources. This bundle is the perfect resource to kick off your fall learning experience – whether it be in September or October!

Come with us as we share our fall themed activities, beginning with lesson plans for a fall themed circle time and continuing with lesson plans for fall themed math, science, and reading lessons.

Fall Themed Circle Time Activities

When your students start preschool this year, one of the things they will look forward to each day is circle time. Designed to help build a positive classroom community, circle time is an essential part of any preschool classroom.

One of the wonderful things about circle time is that it can easily be designed around any theme – like fall! This makes it the perfect starting point to introduce young learners to a new unit. Moreover, it is the ideal time to bring kids together each day to review what they’ve learned throughout the unit  – all while building positive relationships with their peers.

While circle time can include an assortment of learning activities, it typically includes whole group reading, games, and singing. Below is an example of these activities as found in our fall themed circle time

  • teacher overview
  • detailed circle time lesson plans
  • print or projectable text
  • 2 reread/review the text activities
  • 3 responding to text activities
  • song lyrics with a familiar tune + 2 corresponding activities
  • pocket chart poem + 2 corresponding activities
  • 3 game-style whole class activities
  • 5 corresponding independent worksheets
  • 1 emergent reader

Circle time is just the beginning of the fall fun! Once you have kicked off class with the fall circle time activity for the day, it is time to move into your core subject areas. Let’s start with a peek at how students will practice their math and literacy skills through the lens of fall.

Preschool Fall Math Activities

Our PreK math resource for fall includes several learning activities that cover several math concepts. Your preschoolers will practice counting and writing numbers and engage with number recognition, patterns, graphing, measurement, and 2d shapes.
